Summer Intensive Programs
Summer is the time when young dancers devote maximum effort to strengthening technique, expanding dance vocabulary, and broadening their horizons. Programs for beginning, intermediate and advanced level students include classes in ballet, pointe, men’s technique, variations, partnering and repertoire, as well as character, modern, contemporary, and jazz. Our superb summer faculty features a wide variety of exciting guest artists of both national and international acclaim.

Our rigorous Summer Intensive program features renowned teachers from U.S. and abroad, offering classical training and unique learning experiences in ballet and beyond. Classes are offered in ballet technique, men’s technique, pointe, partnering, modern, jazz, character dance and conditioning. One, two, and three week options are available.
CONTEMPORARY INTENSIVE
Levels Intermediate (Ages 11-13), Advanced (14+)
August 4th - August 15th, 2025 / Monday - Friday / 9:00AM - 1:00PM
During the final weeks of Summer Intensive, Intermediate and Advanced classes focus on contemporary techniques including modern, floorwork, partnering, contemporary phrase work and more. Metropolitan’s Artistic Associate, Sarah Mettin, has created a dynamic roster of top teaching talent for a high-energy, exploratory weeks to stretch your mind, body and soul. One and two week options are available.

RENOWNED FACULTY
MAYARA PINEIRO
Principal, Philadelphia Ballet
Pineiro began her career as a soloist with the National Opera of Bucharest. In 2012, she was invited to be a guest artist with Balletto del Sud in Italy. In 2012 to 2014 she danced with the Milwaukee Ballet. She joined Philadelphia Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in our 2014/2015 season. She was promoted to soloist in 2015 and quickly became a principal dancer in 2016.
