In May, 2020 three young Metropolitan alumni completed their professional traineeships, and moved up to sign contracts with professional ballet companies.

We’re thrilled and so proud of these MET MEN!

Juan Castellanos has signed a contract with Charlotte Ballet II. Juan excelled as a Boys’ Scholarship Program student, starting at age 7. His studies over that time also included summer scholarships at San Francisco Ballet, PA Ballet, and Next Generation Ballet. He completed his Trainee year at Charlotte Ballet in 2019-2020.

Tyler Diggs will also be joining Charlotte Ballet II in 2020. Tyler began his training at Metropolitan at 7 years old. His summer scholarship studies included San Francisco Ballet, Bolshoi Academy, and ABT / NYC. He completed his Jr. and Sr. year on scholarship at The HARID Conservatory, and his Trainee year at The Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago.

Michael Jastrzebski is excited to join Ballet Austin 2 for the upcoming season. He began his training at Metropolitan at the age of 13, winning scholarships for summer studies at the Royal Ballet School / London, and Orlando Ballet. He won a Trainee position with the Washington Ballet School upon graduation from high school, and just completed a second Trainee year at PA Ballet.
