Metropolitan alumni are also dancing on Broadway and at Jacob’s Pillow, performing with Cirque du Soleil, as well as pursuing careers in choreography, teaching and arts administration.

Is classical training the new college prep?

For our alumni pursuing other goals, the rigors and rewards of dance training and performance prove to be a winning framework when applying and succeeding at colleges and universities. Our dancers learn focus, discipline, cultural literacy, commitment to something larger than oneself, multi-sensory intelligence, and mental fortitude. Many are pursuing STEM studies and careers. Metropolitan alumni have been accepted into these universities and graduate programs: Columbia University, Cornell University, Dickinson College, Drexel University, New York University, Northeastern University, Princeton University, Stanford University, Syracuse University, Temple University, University of California Berkely, University of Denver, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania’s Carey School of Law & School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Villanova University, and many more.
