Metropolitan Ballet Academy Alumnus Peter Weil Joins the Next Generation Ballet as New Artist;
Will Appear in the XIX Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami 2014

Peter Weil, age 18, alumnus of Metropolitan Ballet Academy, to perform in the International Young Medalists Performance
Jenkintown, PA –Metropolitan Ballet Academy alumnus, Peter Weil, age 18, will join the Next Generation Ballet as a New Artist for the 2014 -2015 season, and as a former YAGP Medal winner, has been invited by Youth America Grand Prix to appear in the International Young Medal Winners Ballet Performances at the XIX Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami, on September 6th, 2014.
Mr. Weil began his studies at Metropolitan Ballet Academy (MBA) at the age of seven as part of its acclaimed Boys’ Scholarship Program and from 2007-2013 performed as a member of Metropolitan Ballet Company, MBA’s pre-professional training program and performing company. Working closely with MBA faculty members Natalya Zeiger, Denis Gronostayskiy, Alexander Iziliaev and MBA Artistic Director Lisa Collins Vidnovic, Mr. Weil was recognized each season (2009 – 2013) with top awards at Youth America Grand Prix , including Second place in Senior Classical Soloist Division and Second Place in the Classical Pas de Deux Ensemble Catagory, 2013 Philadelphia semi-finals.
Mr. Weil’s summer studies while training at MBA included the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School for American Ballet Theatre, New York City, with Full Merit Scholarship (2011); private coaching with Rinat Imaev, American Ballet Theatre (2010); and Orlando Ballet School, also on Full Merit Scholarship (2010). From 2006-2013 Mr. Weil was regularly featured in principal children’s roles at the Pennsylvania Ballet and from 2011-2013 also attended daily class with Pennsylvania Ballet 2, the second company of the Pennsylvania Ballet.
In January 2013, at the age of 16, he was accepted to Boston Ballet School, where he completed their prestigious Trainee Program this spring. Mr. Weil looks forward to his new position as a New Artist with Next Generation Ballet and to working closely with Artistic Director Peter Stark this season. He is honored to participate in the XIX International Ballet Festival of Miami performance and grateful to the Youth American Grand Prix for this honor and opportunity.
XIX International Ballet Festival of Miami
Presented by Miami Hispanic Ballet, the 19th edition of the International Ballet Festival of Miami (IBFM) is the only one of its kind in the State of Florida, and will feature the works of over 200 artists from more than 20 ballet companies representing countries from Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. The festival incorporates film, art, literature and live performances at six different venues across Miami-Dade County into provide an event that serves the diverse audience of Miami-Dade County.
